What is happening in Deir al-Ahmar and its region in terms of thefts and offensive writings by the displaced is the result of their dossier remaining unresolved

Former MP Emil Rahma considered that “what has happened and is still happening in Deir al-Ahmar and its region of continuous thefts and writing of offensive sentences by the displaced Syrians, is an inevitable and logical result of keeping the displaced persons dossier, and not listening to the voice of some, including us, that the Syrian displacement is an imminent danger.” It is permanent, and must not be accepted for suspicious foreign policy reasons and agendas, but there is no life for those who call, because grievance was stronger than the national interest.

And he underlined, in a statement, that “we strongly condemn the crimes committed by displaced Syrians or some of them, in Deir al-Ahmar and other cities of northern Bekaa, and we support the steps taken by the Union of Municipalities of the Deir al-Ahmar in his last meeting, and we call on the relevant authorities of the army and internal security forces, general security and state security to firmly address the violations and transgressions committed by the displaced Syrians before things go smoothly out of control, and citizens are forced to take their rights into their own hands, with the consequent consequences that can have great costs.

Rahma underlined: “This aggression adds to the violations in other regions, which we make available to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and in countries that oppose the return of displaced Syrians and their integration into Lebanese society, and unfortunately they are countries that consider themselves friends of Lebanon and claim to try to help it”.

And he explained: “As a reminder, the hallmark of Deir al-Ahmar and its region is that its people open their hearts in front of their homes to the guest, whether near or far, but however hospitable, it is equally resolute and determined to discourage anyone who pleaded trespass against any of its inhabitants, or any house.” Either shop or property of one of his sons.
