The term sexual dysfunction is associated with men, but the truth is that it is a condition that may threaten both sexes. This situation appears when either party experiences a feeling of discomfort that prevents the exercise of intimacy in its natural form.
From a medical point of view, the most common sexual problems such as low sexual desire, difficulty orgasm, or pain during intercourse can be classified within the forms of female sexual impotence, and these problems occur during any stage of sexual development, that is, a sequence during the emotional and physical changes that a person enters when Aroused sexually.
Any woman can suffer from ED at any age in her life, and sometimes she does not know that she is facing a problem, but in reality it is under the influence of complex interactions between psychological feelings, experiences, lifestyle and relationships. Also, personal beliefs ingrained within a woman’s mind can contribute. Play a big role in this.
Many consider sexual feelings to be an embarrassing and special topic that is difficult to discuss, and therefore, problems like this go unnoticed. Research has found that approximately 43% of women suffer from sexual dysfunction, while 31% are not satisfied during an intimate relationship.
Experts attributed the cause of sexual impotence in women to hormonal imbalance, especially during pregnancy or during menopause, as well as, this condition may also appear due to psychological or physical problems. According to “On Health”
The following are the most common causes of erectile dysfunction:
Physical causes
If a woman suffers from diseases such as cancer, diabetes, kidney failure, bladder problems, or any disease related to the heart, then this could cause sexual dysfunction. Also, medications like antidepressants, blood pressure medications, antihistamines, and chemotherapy drugs can reduce your sexual desire and your body’s ability to reach orgasm.
Hormonal causes
During menopause, a woman’s body produces less estrogen (the female hormone), which affects the sexual response, by reducing blood flow to the pelvic area, which then does not enhance the sensation of the genitals.
The decrease in the female hormone affects the lining of the vagina, making it thinner and less elastic, which causes pain during intimacy, and this condition is known as dyspareunia. During childbirth or breastfeeding, a woman experiences a decrease in hormone levels, and thus sexual desire decreases.
psychological reasons
Anxiety or depression is a major cause of sexual dysfunction, especially if the woman has previously experienced sexual assault. Also, frequent disagreements with a partner directly affect sexual desire, even if the intimate relationship is normal.
It is true that sexual dysfunction in women can be avoided by facing the problem and talking with the partner about the causes of apathy, but in some cases immediate medical treatment is required.
Medical treatment includes hormones that reduce vaginal tension, increase elasticity, vaginal blood flow, enhance lubrication, and increase sexual desire.
