Demi Moore is back in the spotlight and plays the lead role in the highly anticipated film The substance. The horror and science fiction film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2024. In addition to the 61-year-old actress, the film also stars Margaret Qualley, Dennis Quaidand several other well-known actors.
In preparation for her role, Demi Frist “It was, in some ways, less about being in shape and more about – the preparation for it was primarily emotional and internal. It was about connecting on a deeper level with the despair and the pain and the rejection that Elisabeth faces in the beginning, and this kind of deep fear and self-hatred.”
She also spoke openly about her initial thoughts on the project in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “When I watched this movie, I could read it on a page and say, ‘OK, this could either really work and be part of a real cultural shift, something that really has an impact. Or, in truth, it could be a fucking disaster.’ And you know what? That’s what makes it interesting,” Demi explained.
