Actress Ana de Armas is undoubtedly one of the most famous faces in Cuba, being the Cuban who has most succeeded in Hollywood with important roles in major productions and even an Oscar nomination for Best Actress in 2023.
But the Cuba of cinema was not her first stop after leaving the Island, and the actress had a less glamorous start in Spain, where she arrived just after emigrating to begin her artistic career.
De Armas became one of the protagonists of the horror series El Internado, on the Antena 3 network, where she played Carolina Leal, one of the most beloved characters in the series, for three seasons.
In April 2023, within the framework of the last Oscar Awards, Ana was interviewed and confessed that the reason why she left the series was by her own decision, because she felt that she had already fulfilled a place and wanted to try new horizons. , which led her to Hollywood.

Having become one of the best-known actors in Spain, Yon González spoke about his beginnings in El Internado during the 32nd edition of the Union of Actors and Actresses Awards, which was held this Monday at the Teatro Circo Price, in Madrid.
Aware of how complicated it is to stay current in this profession over the years, Yon expressed great admiration and affection for his former castmate, Ana de Armas.
“Yes, plus she is gorgeous, she has grown up so well… I was going to say that she has improved as an actress, but she was already so good when we worked together… And the aunt is still there giving it her all and it is a joy, of course, to see her. I am glad that she is doing very well, because Ana has been a great colleague and a friend while she was here in Madrid, we shared something more than work,” she expressed.
However, despite the friendship they shared at the time, the actor acknowledged that, currently, he and the Cuban woman do not have any type of contact, which is why he does miss her.
“Yes, of course, I haven’t heard from her for many years, but she knows that I wish her all the best,” he confessed.
It seems that the Cuban woman has only known how to preserve the relationships she had on the Island, where he has made controversial trips to meet with friends and family who serve the regime from Cuba. The last of these secret visits, trying not to cause the uproar that it caused in 2023.
