Wow and when should Germany open up again? While Bremen’s Mayor Andreas Bovenschulte (SPD) relies on “nationality” behavior, states such as Saxony-Anhalt and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are rushing forward, and in Bavaria, Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) is presenting an opening plan. What is allowed where?
Baden-Württemberg
On Wednesday the barrier tapes will be removed from the slides and swings in Baden-Württemberg. Museums, open-air museums, exhibition halls, memorials, zoos, animal parks and botanical gardens can then be visited again.
Since Monday, in addition to church services, demonstrations have been allowed again, of course only if the hygiene measures are observed. The retail trade was able to fully reopen, and hairdressers and podiatrists can also offer their services again. Lessons can take place again in institutions for extracurricular vocational training. “Contactless outdoor sports” such as tennis and golf should be possible again from next week.
In addition, the curfew for residents was lifted. However, restrictions still apply: Anyone who leaves the facility must wear a mask in the common rooms for the following 14 days.
Bayern
Bavaria, which has been hardest hit by the epidemic, follows a little more slowly. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) announced the further timetable, who is already looking at the opening of hotels and restaurants: Outside areas of restaurants may again serve guests on May 18th, indoor restaurants on May 25th, hotels on the 30th of May. The retail trade will be allowed to open all shops again, regardless of size, starting next Monday.
Schools also continue in small steps: On May 11th, classes will resume for the classes who will graduate next year, as well as with the fourth graders from primary schools. On May 18, the 1st grade should follow, the 5th grade of the middle schools and the 5th and 6th grades of the Realschulen and Gymnasien. All others come after the Whitsun vacation.
The strict exit restrictions will end on Tuesday, but the crowds and known contact restrictions will remain in place.
Berlin
In Berlin, too, the following still applies: You may only meet outside with someone outside the household or with your family. However, Berlin’s playgrounds and zoos have been open again since last week, and museums, memorials and galleries were allowed to follow suit on Monday. Hairdressers are also allowed to reopen, as are larger shops.
