Apple is very often attacked for the design of its smartphones. In question, this large notch which cuts the slab in its upper part. However, the iPhone 13 could correct the problem. Well in part, at least.
In any case, that’s what Jon Prosser, a YouTuber known for his many leaks about the products of the apple brand, thinks.
In the latest edition of Front Page Tech, his show on YouTube, the latter gives a little more details on the look of the iPhone 13.
A small notch for the iPhone 13?
According to him, if the latter should not completely get rid of their notch, the latter should be a little shorter and it would therefore take up less space. In reality, it would be a little closer to what devices like the Huawei P30 or even, to a lesser extent, the Pixel 3 XL, offered in their time.
At least in terms of width, since the height would not change.
So of course, that won’t stop detractors of the brand from chuckling and reminding that most of the other manufacturers in the market have managed to get rid of the notch.
They are not wrong, of course, but the situation is hardly comparable. Unlike Apple, these manufacturers adopted the notch at the time by cosmetic choice. On the iPhone side, things are different. The notch was not put in place for cosmetic reasons, but for functional reasons. It houses multiple sensors, sensors allowing the brand’s devices to offer their users fast and secure facial recognition.
A notch that is not there to decorate
Face ID has no real competitor, and the technology thus has the merit of operating in all light conditions, and in a fraction of a second. Better yet, the system is very difficult to cheat and therefore offers a high level of security. This is not the case, for example, with a OnePlus or Samsung smartphone.
However, at this stage, caution is required. Jon Prosser is not infallible and we are talking about a smartphone that will not be presented for nine months. The iPhone 13 should indeed be unveiled in September 2021. It should be remembered that four models are expected: the iPhone 13 Mini, the iPhone 13, the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
With, in the program, a lot of changes such as the integration of a 120 Hz panel, WiFi 6E or a new photo module and a new chip.
