On April 10, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine commemorates the martyrs Terentius, Maximus, Alexander and Theodore, as well as Patriarch Grigory of Constantinople, in a new style. According to the old style, on the holiday today, Saint Hilarion the New was remembered.
On this national holiday, our ancestors revered primroses – they collected and dried mother-and-stepmother, plucked pine trees, extracted juice and birch buds. The girls wove wreaths from the first wild flowers, which they brought home and hung on the wall. They believed that this would protect the home from disaster and troubles.
