Hidroelectrica is subject to checks carried out by ANRE due to non-issuance of invoices
Taken by storm by hundreds of thousands of household consumers due to the announced electricity price increases, Hidroelectrica is experiencing difficulties in issuing invoices, a large part of which have not been issued since October.
Although company officials had announced that the invoices would be issued at the beginning of February, some customers told “Adevărul” that they had not yet been issued.
“I’ve been a customer since last November and I haven’t received an invoice yet. I have acquaintances who have not received invoices since July 2022”, said the quoted source.
Hidroelectrica announced in January 2023 that it would send its customers invoices at the beginning of February, according to company representatives. The company has implemented a new IT billing system, and company representatives are also working on a mobile app so that customers can submit their index and make payments more easily.
“Invoices are sent daily, there are tens of thousands of invoices that are sent. In February, in principle, we estimate that it goes back to normal with all customers, hoping that there will be no further legislative changes. The invoicing process started last year – already things are being automated“, said Bogdan Badea, president of Hidroelectrica.

The payment can be staggered in no more than 6 monthly installments of equal amounts, and during the stagger period the current invoices must be paid, together with the staggered installments.
Hidroelectrica, the largest electricity producer in Romania, has the highest growth in the electricity supply market in the last year. At the moment it is in the fourth position in the top of providers at the national level.
ANRE controls at Hidroelectrica
Hidroelectrica was checked by the National Energy Regulatory Authority, after the state-owned company delayed issuing invoices to customers for several months.
The information was confirmed by the company’s representatives, according to economedia.ro.
Hidroelectrica recently entered the electricity supply market, offering the lowest prices on the market. For this reason, the number of customers attracted was impressive.
Practically, in a relatively short period, the company has gone from around 800 places of consumption in the household segment in 2019, to over 500,000 at this moment. In addition, there have been frequent changes to the billing law in recent months.
