It would be “a credit to remove it,” Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay said Monday, according to US media.
Snyder has owned the Washington Commanders since 1999 and has always been one of the most controversial figures in the National Football League. The allegations, which are also currently being investigated by the NFL, include a toxic work environment with commanders and condoned sexual misconduct.
Never in NFL history has an owner been forced by other owners to sell their stock. The prerequisite for this is that 24 of the 32 team owners vote for such a step. A spokesman for the commanders responded to Irsay’s statements by commenting that they were inadequate. Snyder will not sell the team.
