What happens to Dahoud at Borussia Dortmund?

After the furious 4-1 victory over Hertha BSC, the club now has as many points as leaders FC Bayern. The chance of winning the championship is therefore greater than it has been for a long time. (DATA: The table of the Bundesliga)

In the current phase, however, one player hardly gets a chance despite having played an important role in the past: Mo Dahoud.

In 2023 he will only have a meager 14 minutes of use. He was not used at all in the games against Hertha and Chelsea. (DATA: Bundesliga schedule)

“That’s a bit tragic for him and it’s going to be a bit difficult for him to keep up his motivation curve,” says Therefore SPORTS1-Reporter Oliver Müller in the new issue of SPORTS1– A podcast “The Dortmund Week”.

After all, the midfield strategist wanted to attack again after the World Cup break after missing almost the entire first half of the season due to a serious shoulder injury. (DATA: Bundesliga results)

So far, however, nothing has come of it. He wasn’t even in the squad for the game against Bayer Leverkusen, which caused a lot of surprise. (NEWS: mystery about BVB star)

“He’s totally dropping out at the moment and is no longer taken into account under Edin Terzic,” explains SPORTS1-Chief Reporter Patrick Berger.

For him, this non-consideration is therefore a “clear indication” for the future. After all, the 27-year-old’s contract expires in the summer.

“If you want to get together and extend beyond the summer, you would actually expect a few minutes of use,” believes Berger.

Talks with Sebastian Kehl are said to be “soon”, but the chances of further cooperation are rather slim. “I believe that the paths will separate in the summer,” asserts Berger.

“I had a very open and honest conversation with Mo last week. I informed him that we would not be extending his contract in the summer,” explained Kehl Bild.

The German-Syrian has to look for a new club after seven years at BVB. His path may then lead abroad. “He is said to already have inquiries from other countries,” reports Berger.

In the podcast “Die Dortmund-Woche”, SPORT1 chief reporter Patrick Berger and SPORT1 reporter Oliver Müller talk about current topics at Borussia Dortmund. Episode 57 is about Mo Dahoud’s future, Marco Reus’ poker and the master question.
