The meeting with Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, already referred to by many as a showdown, should finally clarify the bilateral relationship. For the first time since Doris Leuthard and Jean-Claude Juncker negotiated the institutional framework agreement in 2017, the Swiss flag was once again prominently blowing in the wind in front of the Commission’s headquarters.
