What happened to the rest of the countries in the Fallout world? History until the great war of 2077

Fallout is experiencing an outstanding moment with the premiere of its television series adaptation on Amazon Prime Video. A saga that was born in 1997 and that has stood out enormously since then, with massive success starting with the launch of Fallout 3 in 2008. A post-apocalyptic world that revolves around the United States, and throughout its deliveries we have visited multiple locations, but some of you may wonder, what has happened to the rest of the countries in the world in Fallout? A question that has an answer, and that is that the saga over the years has also had locations that are part of a country like Mexico and even outer space.

The Great Fallout War

If there is one event that has changed the world of Fallout forever, it has been The Great War. On October 23, 2077, the United States, China and other countries bombarded each other with nuclear missiles for two hours. An atomic exchange that destroyed the world as we knew it, destroying civilization and creating all the mythology that we have seen throughout the saga with its Havens and the inhabitants of the Wasteland and other places. How was arrive to this situation? In the 21st century the world returned to the madness of the Cold War, with the global supply of fossil fuels drying up, and desperation growing among the population.

Natural resources ran out, many small countries collapsed. Europe and the Middle East fought a long war for control of the few deposits still useful at that time, until they dried up in the year 2060 and the war ended. The world on the brink of destruction, with Israel being destroyed by a terrorist nuclear weapon and the European Community dissolving due to various disputes. In 2066 China attacked Alaska seeking to get the last drops of oil in the world, an event that we can relive in Fallout 3 through the Operation: Anchorage DLC, and that in the world of Fallout would end as a conflict in 2077, after the annexation of Canada to United States in 2076, providing the fuel needed to claim Alaska.

After the nuclear attack in 2077, most of the planet became a radioactive desert. It took several decades for the world to move again, and humanity has a lot of work to do in the world of Fallout.

What places have been part of the Fallout saga over the years

Throughout the almost three decades that the Fallout saga has had, we have visited a large number of states: California, Nevada, Oregon, Virginia, Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia, Alaska, Maryland, Massachusetts, Maine and West Virginia. A multitude of places, passing through cities like Washington DC, Las Vegas, Pittsburgh, Boston, Anchorage… The variety is enormous, but generally in the United States with the exceptions of some areas that are part of Mexico in the first Fallout and a DLC from Fallout 3 in which we go to outer space after being abducted.

The review of the beginning of the Fallout series made in Meristation highlights that “the first two episodes promise a lot and will be liked by both video game fans and more lay viewers.”
