It was Daisuke Takahashi who retired from the single at the All Japan Championship last season and turned to ice dancing with Kana Muramoto as a partner.
Miyamoto is deeply involved, including choreographing the short program “eye” for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, where Takahashi won the bronze medal. Moreover, it is a shift to ice dance that Miyamoto has devoted himself to. I was watching with a strong interest.

When I saw the NHK Trophy, which was my debut match, I was relieved.
“I found out in the official practice that I was very nervous. I made some mistakes, but I was able to slide to the end, and I think it was really good.”
Miyamoto choreographed the exhibition program, but there was also a happening in the process.
“Actually, the same song was a song, but the vocals were different from what I wanted to use and what I listened to before the choreography.”
Miyamoto was listening to the vocals of a single man. But it was actually a duet version.
“When I was choreographing, I was wondering what that was. When I asked,’Maybe it’s a duet song?’, I said,’Yes.’ I was really impatient (laughs).”
The discrepancy was due to “the file of the song sent could not be opened”. I knew the title, so Miyamoto looked it up for himself. And it was a happening that happened because I arrived at the male vocal version.
“However, the duet was actually more suitable, so the result was good …”
The program, “You Are The Reason,” was unveiled at an exhibition after the NHK Trophy and received a lot of applause.

“(Muramoto / Takahashi) It was wonderful that he got better in just one year, and of course the winners, Mr. Komatsubara (Misato, Takashi), also performed wonderfully. It’s not easy to win. I could see the spirit, and Mr. Fukase (Rikako / Kana Muramoto) in 2nd place was also good. “

“I want you to work hard, and it is necessary for the development of ice dance to have many couples competing with each other. Children are longing for the current ice dancers to act as seniors, and of course adults I want people to be more involved in ice dancing, and I’m looking forward to it. “
