“Bringing the Cannes Film Festival into every home”. This is the objective announced Thursday by Delphine Ernotte, the president of France Télévisions, during a press conference on the partnership between the public audiovisual group and the festival. To achieve this objective, all the France Télévisions channels will take part in this 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. On France 2, viewers will for example be able to attend the official opening and closing ceremony, which will be presented by the mistress of ceremonies Virginie Efira.
The television news will have a daily newspaper and the team of Telematin will be on site for the duration of the Festival. France 3 will also cover the event on a daily basis. On France 5, the rise of the steps will be seen live in It’s up to you with comments by Pierre Lescure, columnist for the show and president of the festival. Shows It tonight and The big bookstore will also be on hand for special editions.
Coverage in partnership with Brut media
Finally, Culturebox (channel 14 of the TNT) will devote all its evening programming to the festival with a daily live from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. presented by Daphné Burki. This program will be followed by the broadcast of a film from one of the Cannes selections.
On the social media side, the partnership with Brut will also allow wide coverage of the event. This platform, which can be found in particular on YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat and Instagram, will offer short videos every day embodied by Augustin Trapenard.
The Cannes Film Festival will take place from May 17 to 28.
