If you are a driver, you have most likely realized that in the North Highway, between streets 170 and 245, there is a green line on the eastern side of the road; Regarding this, the Ministry of Mobility reported that the signposting that goes south-north direction, corresponds to the preferential lane for school buses that Bogotá has implemented since 2017.
This school lane is used by more than 100,000 kindergarten, college and university students who travel on school routes from Monday to Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. This measure was adopted to reduce travel times for children and students to their educational institutions.
The intervention carried out by the District Ministry of Mobility consists of the implementation of vertical and horizontal signage, with lane lines, directional arrows on both vehicular roads and the preferential school lane on the eastern road.
In the following photo, you can see the signage with a green line on the highway of the North Highway, south-north direction:
The works carried out in this sector of the city correspond exclusively to the adaptation of the infrastructure described. The adjustments that are being carried out have the purpose of improving road safety through the correct demarcation and signaling for the school lane and the road.
