What does Navtex mean, what does it mean?

WHAT IS NAVTEX POST?

Navtex advertisement refers to the notifications made over the Navtex device. In addition, NAVTEX (Navigational Telex) is a communication system that automatically gives written reports and warnings of possible danger, safety and weather to ships in international medium frequency.

Navtex is part of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).

It is possible to send the messages in writing and then work on the message; This is especially important for those who are not fluent in English. Another advantage is that the information needed can be selected by the operator and unwanted information is not suppressed.

However, the information that must be obtained by all ships will always be inventory. For example, navigational and meteorology warnings and search and rescue information and warnings cannot be denied. However, NAVTEX is not essential for sending hazard information. NAVTEX messages are broadcast in English at a frequency of 518 kHz at certain periods. However, in many regions the above mentioned information (for regional transport and fishermen) is also sent in local language. While the main purpose of IMO is the safety of ocean-going commercial maritime transport, NAVTEX has gained great importance for small vessels and private yachts.
