To build the brand, in addition to the efforts of the cooperatives themselves, the supporting role of all levels and functional sectors has had positive impacts. To build cooperative brands associated with OCOP products, the Farmers’ Association of Bac Giang province determined that it is necessary to focus on directing and effectively implementing the following four main contents:

Firstly: Determining that to build cooperatives with strong brands, we must start from building cooperative groups that operate effectively and sustainably.

Identifying cooperatives as the “source”, the “solid root”, and the premise for developing a new type of cooperative; If you want to build cooperatives with strong enough brands, a favorable condition is that those cooperatives are developed from effective cooperatives; Therefore, the Provincial Farmers’ Association has developed and approved by the Provincial People’s Committee the Project “Building THT to create a premise to develop into an agricultural cooperative in the province in the period 2021 – 2025”.

Implementing the Project, the Provincial Farmers’ Association has directed all levels of the association to prioritize the establishment of cooperatives investing in the development of commodity production, which are products with strengths, advantages, and high economic value; flagship product; typical local products; products may participate in the OCOP Program. Once cooperatives have been established, from those that operate well, select them to guide their development into agricultural cooperatives.

After more than a year of implementing the Project on cooperative models, cooperatives established under the guidance of the Farmers’ Association in the province have developed rapidly in both quantity and quality. The number of cooperatives and cooperatives increases each year; In 2022 alone, the Farmers’ Association at all levels across the province has mobilized and guided the establishment of 51 cooperatives and 33 new cooperatives. Accumulated to date, the Association has guided the establishment of 289 cooperative groups and 92 cooperatives.

Among them, there are many cooperatives with diverse products that meet market needs, many products participate in the production of goods along the value chain, creating products that ensure food safety, have packaging, traceability and product barcodes; Many cooperatives, although newly established, have actively participated in building OCOP products such as: Cao Lan agricultural and service cooperative, Cuong Nhung cooperative (Yen The); Cooperative producing and trading glutinous rice wine in Choi village (Luc Nam); Thuy Duong Clean Agricultural Cooperative (Yen Dung); Huong Son clean pineapple cooperative (Lang Giang)…

Second: Building the cooperative brand must be associated with new construction and improving the quality of OCOP products

Determined to build the cooperative brand, cooperatives must have unique products, typical of the province as well as meet the set criteria, especially OCOP certified products… Therefore, the Agricultural Association Provincial people have developed and approved by the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee the Project “Farmers’ Associations at all levels are the core in organizing agricultural production in the direction of cooperation, linking value chains, building and improving the quality of agricultural production.” OCOP products, period 2022 – 2025″.

The project sets a goal that each year, all levels of Farmers’ Associations in the province will directly guide and support the construction of 10 new OCOP products or more and support the consolidation and improvement of effectiveness of 20 recognized products. . To achieve the above goal, the Farmers’ Union at all levels has coordinated to support and advise cooperatives participating in the OCOP program in all stages of the OCOP product development cycle such as developing product ideas; develop production and business plans; implement the plan; Complete documents submitted for product evaluation and classification; promotion…

As a result, in 2022, the entire province will have 22 products guided by all levels of the Farmers’ Association to be recognized as OCOP products (reaching 220% of the plan), of which some products are assessed for quality such as: Southern ginseng flower buds. Dan mountain, Huong Son pineapple, Phi Dien apple, Nam The special Chu rice noodles… 20 products that have been recognized as OCOP products continue to be maintained, consolidated, and improved in quality. In 2023, it is expected that the Provincial Farmers’ Association will continue to guide the development of 20 OCOP products, maintaining and improving the quality of 20 products that have achieved OCOP.

Third: In order for cooperatives to develop sustainably and have products recognized as OCOP products, training and capacity building must be increased.

From practice, it can be seen that Farmers’ Union officials at all levels in the province are not equipped with skills and knowledge to advise, guide and support cooperatives in implementing the steps in the OCOP product development cycle.

At the same time, cooperatives, which are the main participants in the OCOP Program, also lack a lot of knowledge in organizing production development to build OCOP products. Therefore, training and fostering are especially necessary content in the current period. Having determined that, in 2022 alone, the Provincial Farmers’ Association has organized and coordinated with Pharmaceutical Development Joint Stock Company (this is a unit with extensive experience in consulting for localities across the country). building and improving the quality of OCOP products) organized 10 training classes for more than 1,200 officials of Associations at all levels, THTs, and cooperatives with content on the process of establishing THTs and cooperatives; Instructions on building brands, branding, and promoting key products of the cooperative; association in production and business; On-site guidance and consulting on developing OCOP product ideas; How to implement and operate the OCOP Program; Evaluation and grading of OCOP products…

At the same time, directed the Farmers’ Associations of districts and cities to coordinate with specialized agencies to organize 75 training classes for over 5,200 members of the Executive Board, Heads of cooperatives, members of cooperatives, officers and members. .

Fourth: Create conditions for cooperatives to access resources, access science and technology, and access markets; bringing agricultural products into factories and industrial parks

Encourage cooperatives in the province to have more investment resources for production and business development; The Provincial Farmers’ Association has directed all levels of the association to promote service activities such as: Pay attention to capital growth of the Farmer Support Fund. In 2022, the Farmer Support Fund will increase by 5,443.8 million VND, increasing the total capital source in the entire province. reaching over 62 billion VND for nearly 2,000 households to borrow to implement over 300 projects. In addition, associations at all levels have coordinated with Tien Nong Company to supply 9,562 tons of fertilizer; Coordinated with Five Star Golden Kapok Company Limited and Phon Vinh Joint Stock Company to deploy and supply over 2,220kg of HTMAXiGest biological product in livestock production, thereby contributing to creating more resources for THTs and cooperatives to develop.

The Provincial Farmers’ Association signed a program to coordinate with the Provincial Post Office in supporting farmers in digital transformation in the production and consumption of agricultural products and goods in the period 2021-2025.

Bac Giang Provincial Farmers’ Association developed and approved by the Provincial People’s Committee the project “Improving information technology application capacity for farm owners and farmer households with good production and business in Bac Giang province, contributing to the implementation The 4th Industrial Revolution, period 2021-2025”. As a result, we have now built a production process management system and automatically connected supply and demand (MCA). Building 03 models of applying IOT technology (Internet of things) in the field of crop cultivation and pig raising in Hiep Hoa, Luc Nam, Yen Dung districts…

Through the implementation and good implementation of the above 4 contents and solutions; Currently, in the whole province, there are many cooperative models guided and built by the Farmers’ Association, which have built strong brands, operated stably and effectively, and performed well in production linkage and cooperation. connecting products to the market, creating a certain foothold.

Typical examples include: Cooperative producing and consuming Nam The noodles in Nam Duong commune, Luc Ngan district. Reality shows that the activities of agricultural cooperatives in the province in recent times have played an important role in the economic development of the province; Many cooperatives have built and developed their own brands with reputation and high commercial value, contributing to building strong brands for the province’s key products.

In the coming time, to continue “Building cooperative brands associated with OCOP products” Farmers’ Associations at all levels throughout the province will continue to coordinate with socio-political organizations, relevant departments and branches to propagate Mobilize members and farmers to actively participate and establish cooperatives and cooperatives.
