What does art taste like?

With the aim of establishing a dialogue between these two disciplines and replicating the experience of the Thyseen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid (Spain), Ralli Santiago Museum and CV Galería invited 6 renowned chefs from CV Galería’s gastronomic spaces to participate in a new aesthetic experience and activation around the visual arts and gastronomy.

“What does art taste like?” it was an invitation to reinterpret on a plate, paintings and sculptures belonging to the Ralli Collection in Santiago. His gastronomic creations -like true works of art- reflect the sensitive pleasure of the interplay of textures, colors and shapes of the ingredients, together with the character of each of the chosen works. The result of this multidisciplinary project can be revisited through the color photographs installed both in the Ralli Santiago Museum and in the different restaurants of CV Galería.

The chefs / gastronomic artists who participate and resignify the works of the Ralli collection are:

  • Sonia Vigo from “La Dicha” with banqueteros Pablo Bagnara and Francesa Margozzini | “The table setting” by the Chilean painter and engraver of Spanish origin Roser Bru (1923).
  • Juan Andrés García of the new Restaurant “Fe y Barra La Java” with Gino Falcone | “The dream of the immensity” of the Chilean “Hector (Tito) Calderon (1958).
  • Solange López from “La Picantería” | “Tridim-Cristal-II” by the Hungarian artist of French nationality Víctor Vasarely (1908-1997).
  • Gray Sierra del ondero “Etniko” | “Composition” by the American artist Alexander Calder (1989-1976).
  • Víctor Aguilar from “Lolita Jones” | “The gymnast” by the prominent Mexican artist Rufino Tamayo (1899-1991).
  • Renzo Tissinetti | “Venus spatiale”, the bronze sculpture by the Spanish artist Salvador Dalí (1904-1989).
