The Querétaro Prosecutor’s Office reported that, according to the first investigations, the attack who suffered this Friday the businessman Jesus Calderon -son-, It was a direct attack and not an attempted kidnapping.
Attorney General Victor Antonio De Jesus reported that the businessman and his escort driver are still hospitalized after being seriously injured during the armed attack.
This is how the attack against businessman Jesus Calderon Jr. took place
At noon on Friday, September 6, the Queretaro businessman and his escort driver were traveling in a van when they were ambushed by a group of armed men which were transported in at least four vans.
The heavily armed individuals opened fire with high-caliber weapons against the businessman’s truck.
Other bodyguards of the businessman who were traveling in a van behind their boss’s vehicle, repelled the attack, which unleashed a shooting and chase for several minutes.
The events were recorded on the Balvanera Hills Streetwithin the Balvanera industrial zone, in the municipality of Corregidora, Querétaro.

After the attack, the victims headed in their own truck, a white Roll Royce with license plates for the State of Morelos, to St. Joseph Hospitallocated on Paseo Constituyentes to receive medical attention. The two injured were protected by the other escorts.
While the attackers fled towards Rivera del Río, where some of them changed vehicles and left one of the vans they used for the attack.
The SUV was abandoned with high-caliber weapons inside. This unit was secured by elements of the Army and the National Guard.
It was learned that Businessman Jesus Calderon suffered three gunshot woundstwo of them in the arm and another in the chest, while the bodyguard who was driving suffered serious injuries.
Authorities launched an operation to find the attackers, but as of Saturday afternoon, no one had been arrested.

The prosecution maintains that it was a direct attack
Regarding these events, the Attorney General of Querétaro, Victor Antonio De Jesus, reported that it was a Direct attack against businessman Jesus Calderon -son-a renowned industrialist in the plastics sector.
“The Prosecutor’s Office intervened through forensic services and the Criminal Investigation Police. From the evidence we were able to gather, we can see that it was a direct attack on a person who was traveling in a high-end white van,” the prosecutor told local media on Saturday.
He also confirmed that one of the vehicles in which the attackers were allegedly travelling was seized, and said that investigations are continuing to identify and locate the people who participated in the attack against the businessman from Querétaro.
“We maintain close communication and coordination with authorities at all three levels of government, including the National Guard and all police forces in the state, all with the goal of carrying out actions that will allow us to locate the attackers,” said the Attorney General of Querétaro.
The hospital where the victims are being treated is guarded by state and federal security forces.
