You can’t exactly call these delicacies culinary masterpieces.
Several foreigners agreed to a curious experiment, which boiled down to the fact that they had to taste a couple of dishes from famous Soviet paintings. The result was quite unexpected.
The first on the list was the “Brush” salad, which Vasily prepared for Raisa Zakharovna in the film “Love and Pigeons”. Since he adhered to the rules of a healthy diet, the dish consisted exclusively of raw carrots, beets and cabbage. Foreigners did not like this treatment. “What is cow feed?” they were outraged.
Then the participants in the experiment were offered “eggplant caviar, overseas” from the comedy “Ivan Vasilyevich changes his profession.” And this dish also did not inspire foreigners, who were confused by its texture, color and taste.
But worst of all was the stew from the “Three in a boat, not counting the dog” tape. The characters in the film have significantly altered the original Irish recipe, which includes lamb, potatoes, onions, garlic, carrots, vegetable oil and herbs. They cooked from whatever they found at hand. They used a piece of pork pie, a piece of boiled bacon and half a can of canned salmon. However, foreigners can be understood here – Russians are also unlikely to like such a dinner.
