The inspectors from the BFSA check the suitability of the food and whether it is stored under appropriate conditions

The National Revenue Agency (NAA), the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BASHA) and the Consumer Protection Commission (CCP) this morning inspected one of the sites of the “Bolero” chain in Burgas. The inspectors visited the shop next to the Aqua Hotel, which, at least on first reading, would appear to be spotless.

BABH, KZP and NRA entered “Bolero”

In truth, this is among the best stores of this chain and is simply exemplary. In a far more dubious state, for example, are the objects in the “Zornitsa” residential complex and on “Hristo Botev” boulevard, which will also be inspected in the coming days, the inspectors threatened.

Their campaign starts today and will also affect foreign food chains.

During inspections, we monitor compliance with the Consumer Protection Act and, above all, whether unfair commercial practices are present. The campaign starts today – February 15 and will continue until March 31, announced Chief Inspector Kristina Kasabova from the KZP.

In the Bolero store, they checked whether the food products had a declared price, whether the discount, if any, was written correctly and whether the prices were written per 100 grams or per kilogram. The legal commercial practice is to indicate per kilogram, specified Inspector Kasabova.

The employees from the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) in Burgas checked the expiration dates, whether dairy products and eggs are stored at the right temperature and the labeling of the products.

We also check the documents for the origin of the goods, as well as the execution,” said Dr. Teriza Tikashvili. She specified that it happened in the stores that they found goods that had expired – up to 1-2 days, but this, she said, was rather a mistake of the employees in the respective store.

Checks were also carried out in the big chains, explained Dr. Tikashvili.

The inspectors from the revenue agency made a control check of the documents and the cash registers. There is no official information, but given the quick completion of the work, it can be assumed that everything along this line is flawless.
