María de la Concepción Lorena Villar Dondé, better known in the national artistic community as Lorena Velázquez, died on Thursday, April 11 at the age of 86 in Mexico City. The unfortunate news was confirmed by the National Association of Interpreters (ANDI) on social networks.
“The National Association of Interpreters announces the sensitive death of the interpreter partner Lorena Velázquez. She is an actress from the golden age of Mexican cinema with an extensive career in theater, film and television. We send our condolences to her family and friends.”

As soon as the unfortunate news broke, several personalities from the national artistic milieu and associations flooded social networks with condolences and messages of affection in memory of the person who conquered the Mexican public with his talent and beauty in iconic films of Mexican cinema.
“Now dear Lorena Velázquez has left! How sad! May God grant that peace that surpasses all understanding to her son, her nephews and all her loved ones. Rest in Peace!” commented María Sorté.
Santo’s son was not left behind, as his father collaborated with her in several Mexican Cinema films: “I deeply regret the death of the beautiful and beloved first actress #LorenaVelázquez, companion and friend of my father #ElSanto and mine, considered the queen of Fantastic Cinema. A hug to her son Eduardo, family and friends.”

However, his relatives have not commented on the matter, so the causes of death are unknown.
A few months ago, the actress held a meeting with the media where she was questioned about her latest television projects and opened her heart to share how she wanted to be remembered.
“With my son remembering me, I am happy. Now, if the public also remembers me, I will be happier and what a shame I won’t see it. “They identify me as the saint’s girlfriend and I was never his girlfriend.”
