Cristiano Ronaldo has on his YouTube channel UR – Cristiano in conversation with his former United teammate Rio Ferdinand about the end of Toni Kroos’ career. When asked about the comparatively early retirement of his former teammate at the age of 34, CR7 reacted with mixed feelings.

“We don’t know what’s going on in his life outside of football. We have to respect him. Many people’s careers are getting longer, but we’re not all the same,” explained the Portuguese, who is still chasing records at the age of 39.
For Ronaldo, there is no doubt that Kroos still had a few more years left at the highest level. “If you ask me whether he could play for a few more years: yes, of course. But maybe there are other things in life for him,” said Ronaldo about the six-time Champions League winner.
“He does exactly what he says”
Ronaldo has nothing but respect for Kroos. The German has always been a very straightforward guy. “He does exactly what he says. I respect his decision,” CR7 concluded.

Kroos and Ronaldo played together at Real Madrid from 2014 to 2018 and won the Champions League three times in a row before Ronaldo left for Juventus Turin. The two played together 171 times for the Royal Club.
