The President of the Republic sketched the contours of the labor reform text which will be debated at the start of the school year in Parliament.

“The heart of the battle that I want to lead in the coming years is full employment” : Emmanuel Macron reiterated his desire to do everything possible to bring the unemployment rate down to 5%, during the July 14 television interview.
To do this, he is counting in particular on a labor reform bill which will be presented at the end of the summer. Review of the main points that the text should contain.

Employment support for seniors
Emmanuel Macron expressed his desire to facilitate the employment of seniors, with particular emphasis on the “lifelong learning ». If the pension reform plans to shift the legal retirement age to 65 by 2030, Emmanuel Macron says he wants “improve the quality of work, improve the work of seniors and allow them to work longer, taking into account long careers and the arduous nature of the work”.
“Many people are unemployed today because they have a training that does not correspond to the needs of the nation”, declared the President of the Republic. The text should also include a section on the reform of the VAE (validation of acquired experience).

A call for wage increases
“The best response to purchasing power is work and wages”, hammered the head of state.
