Super Bowl 57 returns to Phoenix for the first time since 2015. Although this will be the fourth Super Bowl for the city, it does not hold the record. Which city has hosted the most Super Bowls?
Phoenix is currently in fourth place on the all-time Super Bowl city list. The first time they held a big game was in 1996 at Sun Devil Stadium. Twelve years later, State Farm Stadium hosted the Super Bowl in 2008 and then again in 2015.
Last year, when Los Angeles hosted its eighth Super Bowl, it crept to third place on this list. The first two games hosted by Los Angeles were held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The Rose Bowl in Pasadena then hosted five games, followed by last year in sofi stadium.

Second on the list is New Orleans, which has hosted the game 10 times since 1970. In fact, New Orleans will move into first place when Caesars Superdome hosts the Super Bowl in 2025. The 10 games in New Orleans have been split between the Tulane Superdome and Stadium. Tulane Stadium hosted three games between 1970 and 1975.
The current leader in terms of the city that hosts the game the most is the Greater Miami Metropolitan Area, with 11. The last six games in Miami have been held in Miami Gardens at the stadium now known as Hard Rock Stadium. The first five games held in the Miami area were played at the Orange Bowl between 1968 and 1979.
As for the state that hosts the most Super Bowls, Florida leads with 17. That includes the 11 in the Miami area, while five have been hosted in Tampa and one in Jacksonville. California will host the Super Bowl for the 13th time in 2022. That’s the second most appearances, just ahead of Louisiana with 10.
