The first German film festival drew 1.1 million people to cinemas nationwide on the second weekend of September with significantly reduced admission prices. According to the Hauptverband Deutscher Filmtheater (HDF), with this number the industry followed the weekend with the highest number of visitors in the last ten years: in September 2019, just before the pandemic. A successful advertising campaign, also for theaters participants in Lower Franconia.
