The arrival of 2021 it will also mark significant innovations as regards television use. As established for some time, in fact, in September the transition to the new frequencies of the DTT. You will use a new decoder suitable for receiving the standard DVB-T2. The latest generation televisions are already equipped with it, while others need the external device or, buying a new TV.

To check if your television is compatible with DVB-T2, just select channel 100 or 200. If it is, a blue screen will appear with a white square and the words “Test HEVC Main20“. In this case, the TV is compatible, but the channels must first be retuned. More or less the same procedure that we had to carry out with the arrival of the first digital terrestrial format, now over a decade ago.

Let’s go specifically to analyze what the dates ofthe passage in the various Italian regions to the DVB-T2 standard. The national territory will be divided into four macro areas, in which the signal change will be made in a period included between 1 September 2021 and 20 June 2022.

L’area 1 e l’area 3, with a period between 1 September and 31 December, will cover: Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lombardy, Piedmont, the autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano, Veneto and Valle d’Aosta.

L’area 2 instead it will proceed with the change of digital terrestrial between January 1st and March 31st 2022 and will involve: Liguria, Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio, Campania and Sardinia.

Finally the last area, between April 1 and June 20, 2022, will include the regions of Marche, Abruzzo, Molise, Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily.
