The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) held a press conference to announce its precautionary measures before the announcement of Nevada.
The president of the MTA Bus Company, Craig Cipriano, urged New Yorkers to stay home; However, he reiterated that the bus services will continue although less frequently, as the units will have chains on their wheels to be able to circulate despite the snow.
With respect to subway, the manager of the subway, Demetrius Crichlow, affirmed that the service will be maintained, although he anticipated that there could be some delays in certain lines.
He explained that express services could also be affected with certain delays. But he reiterated that they are prepared to offer the service during peak hours.
For his part, Mario Peloquin, head of the operations office, confirmed that the LIRR will operate on weekends and that, for tomorrow, Metro-North service in Grand Central will end at midnight.
For bridges and tunnels, special vehicles will be used to keep roads clear and open to traffic during the storm.
