Announced by President Emmanuel Macron in April, the income tax cut took note at the start of 2020. pronounced to improve the purchasing power of the middle classes, the tax cut will benefit a total of 17 million people.

Concretely, these 17 million people will see their pensions, wages or other income paid after tax increase. In total, 304 euros on average will be saved all year round.

If you are one of the 12.2 million households in the first tranche, you will benefit from an average gain of 350 euros, according to the simulator made available by the Ministry of Economy and Finance on their website. Indeed, for this first tranche, the tax rate drops by three points. It goes from 14% to 11%.

A gain of 180 euros for the second tranche

Ditto, if you are in the next bracket, taxed at 30% for income between 25,406 and 72,643 euros and which concerns five million households, you will benefit on average from a gain of 180 euros.

Finally, if you are not in one of these two brackets and you are in the upper brackets (41 to 45%), your tax cut will be neutralized by lowering the entry threshold.

Be careful, however, all these sums can be increased or decreased depending on your family situation and your salary.
