The arrival of the T9 tram is notably scheduled for 2026 in this district of Villeurbanne, landlocked on the other side of the ring road and the Jonage canal. A public meeting is offered to residents this Saturday.

On the other side of the ring road, on the other side of the Jonage canal, the Saint-Jean district is particularly isolated in Villeurbanne

“The inhabitants of Saint-Jean are invited to participate in an information and discussion meeting on the future of the district: arrival of the T9 tramway, concerted development zone (Zac), developments in the city of Saint-Jean, of life, mobility / transport, equipment, public services, housing, sport / leisure, green spaces …“, explains the town of Villeurbanne.

The T9 tram will notably cross the district. Commissioning is expected at the beginning of 2026. This new tram will link Charpennes to La Soie, thus passing through Saint-Jean, but also through the Mas-du-Taureau and through the center of Vaulx-en-Velin.

The public meeting will take place on Saturday December 11 from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Saint-Jean gymnasium, 15 rue des Jardins in Villeurbanne, with the presence of the mayor of the municipality, Cédric Van Styvendael but also the vice-president of the Metropolis of Lyon in charge of town planning, also elected in Villeurbanne, Béatrice Vessiller.
