What brand has the best camera phones?

Time to settle this discussion.

Huawei and Xiaomi, two Chinese giants that have won the hearts of many for their proposals. While the first is a telecommunications giant that has started to get into the business of consumer mobiles, the other has become known for its “price / quality”.

At first it was difficult to think that any of the two could give weight to the greats of the industry in terms of mobile photography, and that is that Apple, Samsung, LG and Motorola were years ahead, at least in market positioning.

But time has taken over showing that these brands do have something to say. Since Huawei partnered with the German company Leica to offer co-engineered systems with this brand, people’s perception has changed.

Without going any further, when the P20 Pro was introduced not long ago, presenting the first Night Mode, the world fell in love with the quality of the images that could be obtained with these phones.

On the other, but close sidewalk, Xiaomi model by model is improving itself to offer very complete and good quality experiences, which may not compete with the best, but which will be more than enough for most people.

According to the DxOMark ranking, that despite having several detractors (me, including myself, for their measurement method) are still a good quality thermometer. In this, the fourth place in the world is won by Xiaomi’s most advanced team, the Mi 10 Pro, which is the first high-end of this company to deliver a truly ready photographic experience to fight on the high side.

On the other hand, for years the first places have been taken by Huawei and currently its P40 Pro has the crown as the best cell phone to take photos today.

Okay, there are quality issues involved, but the color treatment and processing could make one go for one or the other depending on personal themes and tastes, but there is no doubt that Huawei has a big advantage, because They have also put more research and development into this aspect, making it almost a priority at times.

Still, they shouldn’t relax (and I don’t think they will), because Xiaomi, which is eating more and more market share, could decide to put its efforts here and surprise.

At the end of the day, the ones who win are us, the consumers, who with these contenders make the traditional ones tremble and make them have to raise the stick always.
