On hiatus since 2016, Stromae has been discreet for more than four years. In the shadows, the Belgian artist took advantage of this quieter time to settle health concerns, develop other aspects of his career, but also and above all: found a family.
Since the immense success of his second album, Racine Carrée, Stromae has indeed become a father for the first time, to a little boy born in September 2018, whose first name we still do not know. On rare occasions, his wife, stylist Coralie Barbier, reveals photos of the little one, which is therefore preparing to celebrate its 3 years.
Married since 2015, Coralie Barbier and Stromae are at the head of the Mosaert brand. Only one title had resulted from this collaboration, Défiler, music used during the parade of the sign at Bon Marché, in April 2018. It is the last solo song of the artist.
This does not mean that Stromae has stopped making music. In the shadows, he works as a producer with many artists: Disiz, Vitaa, Caballero & JeanJass or even MHD. He also sang again on the title La Pluie d’OrelSan, in the studio but also on stage. His last collaboration dates from 2019 and this duo he signed with Coldplay for the British group’s Everyday Life album.
In a long interview with Konbini, broadcast on April 30, 2018, Stromae mentioned the possible release of an album in 2020. “It’s an“ if ”, we speak in the conditional. I take the fold, I did a few things that I’m quite proud of but from there to put the pressure on myself, frankly I don’t want to, ”he explained. We will therefore have to wait a little longer to hope to see this album come out one day.
