Chris Töpperwien was called the “Currywurst Man” when he became known through his appearance on Goodbye Germany. In 2011, Töpperwien decided to emigrate to the USA. A year later, VOX took notice of him and since then he has appeared on Goodbye Germany.
From Goodbye Germany emigrant to Curry King of LA
In Los Angeles, he founded his own silver jewelry label, “silverangels.” On the side, Töpperwien drove his curry truck through the city. This was a natural step, since Töpperwien had already helped out at his uncle’s snack bar as a young boy.
A well-known moment in the documentary show was the marriage proposal Töpperwiens to his then girlfriend Magdalèna Kalley, who accepted him in tears. In 2014, the couple finally married, Töpperwien for the second time. However, the marriage only lasted four years before they separated.

Jungle camp, summer house of the stars and co.: Töpperwien can’t be taken off the TV
But the media jungle was not over for Töpperwien. In 2016, he and his then wife took part in the Summer House of the Stars, where they even third place After that, he appeared in a variety of TV formats. He appeared in Taff, Abenteuer Leben and Punkt 12.

Chris Töpperwien has been on trial in Vienna since July. He is accused of using funds from his former company “Grill Heaven GmbH” for private purposes. A European arrest warrant was issued against him. Töpperwien was arrested upon entering Germany and extradited to Austria. Chris Töpperwien commented on the trial to RTL:
This is definitely the lowest point of my life. There is nothing deeper than that. There has never been anything like it.
But today, August 26, the verdict was handed down: Chris Töpperwien was acquitted. The emigrant reported to RTL: “I am very, very glad that this hellish trip is finally over.” The reality TV star can now return home to his wife Nicole and his one-year-old son.
