Rising interest rates around the world could one day turn into a global economic downturn, said billionaire Microsoft founder Bill Gates.
The entrepreneur assesses the current state of events in Ukraine as a very serious event, which in terms of damage to the world economy is much more painful than the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Stock bears”, according to the billionaire (market participants who earn on the stock market, falls through the sale of securities), have all the serious arguments for this.
The conflict in Ukraine, Gates said, has raised the price of raw materials, exacerbated logistical problems and increased public debt, Blitz reports. Attempts by officials and relevant services to curb inflation have led to higher interest rates.
Earlier, Gates predicted an early rise in the light economy after the pandemic. Currently in business, the acute phase of the coronavirus will not be until 2022, despite the emergence of the delta, which is highly contagious.
