What are the most popular books among young people? It reveals the largest book festival

This year’s event, which has no analogues in Central Europe, will offer visitors, in addition to Czech authors, also the German writer star Lin Rina. Her bestseller young adult historical novel Chronicles of Dust has already been reprinted in the Czech Republic, and the young have literally failed.

Author within HumbookFestu will present his new, hungry anticipated novel Limea.

The book sales festival will offer a number of thematic debates and autograph signings, during which almost 20 Czech authors and other performers will present themselves.

Kateřina Šardická, whose debut The Disappearance of Sara Lindertová won the Book of the Year competition in two categories in 2019, or Vladimíra Šebová, a bestseller Slovak author who publishes the long-awaited novel Daughter of Winter at the end of September, will appear in a discussion on Slavic mythology.

One of the most popular Czech young adult authors, Theo Addiar, will discuss LGBT + topics in the books, together with the authors Sam Xabyssus and Ella Fever, who deals with the issue of trans persons in her comic book Třeťák.

Read or not read classics and popular podcasts

One of the themes of the festival will be whether or not to read a classic and what the classic actually represents in the eyes of young readers today. Can Harry Potter be considered today, for example, or is Grandma still rolling him in compulsory reading?

The program also includes a discussion on the topic of increasingly popular podcasts. The winners of the Podcast of the Year poll Lucie Bechynková and Bára Krčmová from the podcast True Crimes will take part.

The well-known game youtuber Radek Starý alias sterakdary, who published his debut fantasy book Arila: Silver City, will also perform this year.

But the bookworm community is probably most looking forward to finally being together. Live. Visitors celebrate the unique atmosphere of HumbookFest every year, and this festival is about meeting people with similar interests, readers, authors, bloggers and book enthusiasts.
