And so as not to miss any of those releases, below is a review of the most promising titles that will arrive on the main platforms during November.
Based on the novel of the same name by Laura Esquivel (which already had a movie in 1992), Like water for chocolate arrives as a six-episode miniseries. Here the story revolves around a moving romantic saga, which has the Mexican Revolution as a background landscape. The protagonist is Tita (Guaita Blue), a young woman who, as the youngest daughter of the family, must follow the tradition of renouncing love to dedicate herself to taking care of her mother in her old age. But everything changes when she meets Pedro (Andres Baida), for whom she feels a deep love that she will not be able to live freely, due to the family mandates that imprison her.
Tita’s feelings will lead her to rethink her life, and put in crisis a tradition that becomes an anchor. Her refuge will then be her other great love, cooking. Through all kinds of recipes, Tita will be able to express all the emotions that go through her, and meals will become a way of peeking into the soul of this woman. Like water for chocolate is produced by Salma Hayek and the cast completes it Ana Valeria Becerril, Andrea Chaparro, Ángeles Cruz y Mauricio García Lozano.
