What are the islands of Lake Pátzcuaro like, a place that YouTuber found “desert” in Michoacán?

Lake Pátzcuaro has emerged as a prominent topic on social networks in recent days. This is because on April 11, a YouTuber shared through his YouTube channel “El Purépeche” the worrying drought situation that this body of water, crucial for the region, is going through.

“They are blocking the entire passage, like they don’t want anyone to walk here. We went through a fence they have there preventing the passage; maybe we will be able to reach Janitzio without a boat,” said the young man, while he was observed walking on the land that was previously covered by a blanket of water.

Furthermore, the YouTuber accused the communities near the lake, stating that “they take the water for the livestock, for the orchards, their crops and in general for their benefit.”

It is important to highlight that his intention was to reach the island of Janitzio; However, a few kilometers from reaching land, the terrain became muddy, which prevented him from continuing.
