Apple officially introduced update iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 for iPhone and iPad devices that focus on bringing new features, bug fixes, to performance improvements on devices.
One of the excellent features of the update is the Face ID update or face sensor that allows users to open their cellphones without the need to remove their masks. The iOS 15.4 update can also be found in Indonesia.
You can check it by going to Settings > General > Software Update on your iPhone. Here are some new features in iOS 15.4 as quoted by Macrumors:
Unlock FaceID with a mask
Currently, people are required to wear masks during the pandemic. Unfortunately, the FaceID security feature cannot read users who are wearing masks. With the iOS 15.4 update, iPhone users can now unlock Face ID without needing to remove the mask or requiring additional devices such as an Apple Watch.
The trick, Face ID in iOS 15.4 will detect the area around the eyes including being able to detect users who wear glasses. Unfortunately, the latest Face ID cannot detect users who wear sunglasses. The solution, users must first remove their glasses to scan the new version of Face ID.
Unfortunately, the Face ID update with the mask is only limited to iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 users. So iPhone 11 and below users can’t use this feature.
New Emojis
iOS 15.4 also introduces 112 new characters with 37 emoji and 75 skin tones. Emojis include melting faces, saluting faces, peeking eyes, faces with dotted lines, to faces with diagonal lip lines and mouth biting emojis and bubbles.
