What are the closing times for polling stations?

Be careful if you plan to go to the voting booth this Sunday: the hours of the polling stations in the legislative elections are not the same as in the presidential elections.

Be careful not to get caught up in the weather this Sunday for those who plan to go to the polls: the polling stations for the legislative elections on Sunday June 12 and 19 will close their doors in principle at 6 p.m. in metropolitan France.

“By way of derogation, certain polling stations, in particular in large cities, will be open until 8 p.m. In this case, the prefectural decrees are published and displayed in each municipality”, specifies the Ministry of the Interior. on its website. This is the case for example in Paris.

The schedules of each polling station are also available on the sites of each municipality.

Vote until 7 p.m. in the presidential election

During the presidential election in April, the schedules were not exactly the same. The offices were in principle to close at 7 p.m., and by exception, again in large cities generally, at 8 p.m.

On the other hand, the opening of the polling stations, in the legislative and presidential elections, remains the same: the doors open simultaneously at 8 am.
