What are the steps in the process of schooling ?

According to the law, all children can be educated from the age of 3 years old in nursery school at the request of the family. The first step is to enroll their child in the school of his area, and then make contact with the MDPH to submit an application to schooling in an ordinary environment with the awarding of an AVS.

Then, a personalized project of schooling is developed with the CDAPH, by making a request to the MDPH with the possibility of requesting the help of a teacher referent. The CDAPH is the organisation which takes decisions on the direction of school, in consultation with the parents. Schooling in an ordinary environment can be proposed, individual or collective, depending on the nature and severity of the disability, or in medico-social establishment or medico-educational (IME or ITEP).
