What causes lung spots?
According to the Ministry of Health, the cause of lung spots or TB comes from an infection with the Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria.
Most of the germs that cause TB attack the lungs. However, this disease can also infect bones, lining of the brain, lymph nodes, eyes, kidneys, heart, liver, intestines and skin.
The germs that cause lung spots can be transmitted to other people when a TB patient actively coughs, talks, sneezes, sings, and talks without a mask or protection.
Liquid splashes from the respiratory tract that contain these bacteria can be inhaled and enter the lungs.
After the TB germs enter, the patient can experience an infection and feel some symptoms of the disease two to 12 weeks later.
The risk factors for TB transmission are highly dependent on the level of transmission, the duration of exposure to the causative agent, and the patient’s immune system.
Please note, this disease can be cured as long as the patient is disciplined in taking TB medicine for at least 6 months. If the treatment is incomplete or not disciplined, lung spots can recur.
