New team, new players, new season, new goals. The Girondins eSports kicked off their second season in eLigue 1 Uber Eats with a defeat against Clermont Foot (2-1). Marwan Chahhou, alias MarwanMC9, and Amine Boughanmi, Mino7x, defend the colors of Bordeaux with the desire to go to the end of the national competition, but also during official FIFA competitions, whether as a team (eClub World Cup) or individually (eChampions League, FGS). They will be trained, like last year, by Benoît Amédée, nicknamed Kalash.
A complementary duo
A real big name on the eSport scene, Mino7x already has an XXL track record. FIFA 18 S2 French champion, FIFA 20 French champion and FIFA 21 French vice-champion, the player knows how to win. Experienced at national level, Amine Boughanmi has also proven himself at international level by participating in the FIFA 21 eNations Cup and the final phase of the FIFA 20 eClub World Cup.
For Marwan Chahhou, this is a great first as a professional player. At only 21 years old, MarwanMC9 has real potential. Last year, he ranked 7th best French player on the FIFA Global Series circuit. The Bordeaux club therefore wanted to be a springboard for him and believes in his abilities, which can only increase throughout the season.
The two players, added together, form a harmonious combo. “Basically, the two players didn’t really know each other, explains Benoît Amédée, the coach. Mino discovered Marwan, who has a very good collective game. He really manages to blend into the team in an efficient and relevant way. Mino, he tends to play his role as a leader, to be a bit of the big brother”.
“Go as far as possible”
The two gamers, who did not know each other, are happy to share this season together. “Marwan is going to hurt very badly!”promises Amine. “Mino? He is an ideal teammate. He has a lot of experience, he knows the game very well. He can only lift me up”, says MarwanMC9. And remain ambitious in a championship that promises to be tight. “What we would really like is to win the tournaments, to go as far as possible. We’re working hard for that.” Mino comments. The Girondins do not set any goal limits. And even if they started this 2023 edition badly with a defeat against Clermont, the desire to win the title of champion of France is omnipresent.
