What Adele fans need to know about the concerts in Munich – all information about today’s performance – Munich

When does Adele perform?

When Munich’s families go on holiday, Adele flies in to spend the summer in the city. The British musician will be giving ten large open-air concerts in August on the grounds of the Riem trade fair – they are her only ones in Europe on her international tour. Adele’s performances will take place over five weeks – mostly on Fridays and Saturdays. The first dates were on August 2nd and 3rd. The other eight are on August 9th, 10th, 14th, 16th, 23rd, 24th, 30th and 31st. Each concert starts at 7.30 p.m.

Initially, four concerts were announced at the end of January, and four more gigs were added to the program shortly afterwards. And on February 6, the organizers Live Nation and Leutgeb Entertainment Group finally announced that two more concerts would be added.

How much do the tickets cost?

Pre-sales began on February 7th – there was a lot of fuss about it. Initially, only those who had registered for the pre-sale on Adele’s official website could buy tickets. They received exclusive access links with which they could buy up to four tickets. Anyone who logged in a few seconds after the pre-sale began at 10am to buy a ticket for the first concert on August 2nd was directed to a waiting area. One user said: “People ahead of you: 184,989.” The cheapest tickets for 74.90 euros were quickly snapped up. But the concerts, each of which has space for 80,000 fans, are still not sold out. Tickets for each performance were still available before the concert series began.

Oops, someone feels something on stage. Adele is nervous, swearing and crying at her first concert in her own arena. And shows why you have to love her and this madness.

The organizers are therefore giving away so-called “Lucky Dip Tickets” at short notice. The last-minute bargains are available for 35 euros including all fees. You cannot choose which seats you get for the last-minute offer. Anything is possible, from seats at the back to standing room at the front. A maximum of two tickets can be purchased. These must then be picked up in person on the day of the concert. They are not transferable and cannot be returned. Applications for the cheap tickets are staggered. The sales rounds always start on Monday at 10 a.m. for the two concerts of the respective week.

SZ PlusBack on sale today:Why are Adele tickets suddenly available for 35 euros?

Ever since tickets for the ten Munich concerts were sold at a bargain price, there has been speculation about the reasons for this. About the outrage of customers from the very beginning – and what could be behind the discount trick.

Where do the concerts take place?

The concerts will take place on the exhibition grounds Munich in Riem. Several major concerts have already been organized here in 2022. Helene Fischer performed in front of 130,000 fans at the time – she had never had such a big performance before. Andreas Gabalier played in front of 90,000 people, Robbie Williams in front of a similarly large crowd. The Brit joked at his concert about the fans, some of whom were standing far away from the stage: “I could take my penis out of here and they wouldn’t even see it.”

The concert area in Riem includes much more than just the arena. There is a beer garden and a pub with expensive beer and wine, a Ferris wheel – and very long queues in front of the merch store. A visit.

How do you get to the concert area in Riem?

It is recommended to travel by public transport. The best way to reach the site is by subway via the Messestadt Ost stop. As with other major concerts, the Munich Transport Company (MVG) is reinforcing the subway network. The U2 will be reinforced by the U8 from Innsbrucker Ring to the trade fair. For arrivals from around 4 p.m. and departures from around 9.30 p.m., a train will run every three minutes between the trade fair and the city center. Nevertheless, patience will be required and visitors are advised to set off early. If there is a risk of overcrowding, the station will be closed for safety reasons until there is enough space on the platform for concertgoers to move up.

The transport concept also includes shuttle buses to Max-Weber-Platz, where the U4 and U5 lines can be reached. According to the organizers, the shuttles will transport up to 20,000 people in the evening.

Spectators who cycle can either park their bikes at the Messestadt West bicycle station or lock them at the bike racks in front of the West Exhibition Entrance.

Anyone arriving by car must be prepared for a lot of traffic and a long way from the car park to the exhibition centre. Direct access to the site is not possible. Adele fans who are travelling from other cities and are dependent on their car are advised to park their vehicle far away from the concert site at one of the park-and-ride facilities in Munich and continue their journey by public transport.

Adele starts her concert series in Munich. Tens of thousands of people come – and brave a short rain shower, which also has a small impact on the singer’s wardrobe. Pictures from the first day of the concert.

How do the concerts take place?

A giant stage, specially designed for the concert series, will be set up on the grounds of the Munich Trade Fair. The stadium will have a diameter of around 300 metres – and will therefore be significantly wider than the one for Helene Fischer. There will be a combination of seated stands, seats and standing room. The Munich-based Florian Wieder, who has already designed the stages for Helene Fischer, Andreas Gabalier and Robbie Williams, has been commissioned to create the concept.

Which setlist will be played is a secret. Only this much: It will be “the total opposite of the very small shows in Las Vegas,” where Adele has been giving intimate weekend concerts at Ceasar’s Palace since November 2022 and until June 16, 2024, says her manager. “There will be a different setlist in Munich than in Las Vegas. Of course, the classics will also be there.” He doesn’t want to say more, “there has to be something surprising.”

Where will Adele perform in 2024?

Most recently, the singer had an engagement at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, where she performed her program “Weekends with Adele” almost every week from November 2022 to June 2024. Critics were very impressed. The musician has been preparing for the Munich concerts since June. Adele has no further performances planned for 2024. It is therefore expected that fans from all over the world will travel to Munich to see the star live.

When did Adele last play in Germany?

In May 2016, Adele performed six times in Germany. She gave two concerts each in Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne. At that time, she avoided Munich.

Why is she playing in Munich of all places?

Adele couldn’t really say when the concerts in Munich were announced. She had originally planned a quiet summer after the concert marathon in Las Vegas, but then she was called about a series of summer shows, the 35-year-old said. on her Instagram account. She had become “too curious”. She wrote: “A big bang in the middle of Europe? In Munich? Sounds a bit random, but still fabulous!”

Correction: An earlier version of the article stated that Adele sang in Düsseldorf in 2016, but in fact she performed in neighboring Cologne.
