During the summer, offering activities to children can quickly turn into a headache. Various options are available to vary the pleasures.
The educational farms offer a multitude of activities for children. In Prémilhat, the Domaine de la Ganne stands out for its exotic animals. It’s not everywhere that you find camels, alpacas, Scottish cows and even wallabies. A great opportunity to share new knowledge with your children while having fun. There are also poultry, donkeys, ponies… The one-kilometre route is marked out to be followed independently by families. “They walk at their own pace and have no specific order to complete the course,” says Guillaume Pobeaud, the manager. For explanations, panels give details of the animals. Visitors then go to the stable and can “pet and feed the animals, especially the guinea pigs”, an activity well appreciated by children.
The Domaine de la Ganne is free to visit from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. without reservation. Contact: 06.76.92.25.02. domainedelaganne.fr. Prices: free for children under 3; €5 for children under 12; €7 for over 12s.
The farm around fun challenges
In Domérat, in the farm of the adventurers, it is animals from our regions that we see. No camels from Asia or alpacas from South America, but an enthusiast, Amandine Peurton, who has been sharing her love for animals with the public for two years. To enrich the experience of its visitors, it has set up various activities. For example, for the little ones, we can find “an egg hunt where they have to collect as many as possible”. Sometimes with a system of eliminations to spice up the game. “The children have three feathers, each time they lose, a feather falls, after three lost feathers, they are eliminated”. Fun challenges adapted to the age and to be taken up to test yourself and have fun.
The adventurers’ farm is open every day for guided tours; reservations at 06.86.07.58.39. Prices: €5 for adults, €5 or €10 for children if there is entertainment.

In Urçay, the Biquettes du pays de Tronçais open their doors every day from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. to the public for a free visit. In the water, boy!
With the heat setting in, it is at the Loue water park that you can find some freshness. The activities offered this summer are perfectly suited to families with young children. “They take advantage of the fun pool, the fountains, the outdoor ‘splashpad’ water jets and the slides accompanied by an adult if they are too young”, explains Louisiane Gounot, the aquatics coordinator. Swimming courses are also organized for children under six. “The goal is to get them used to the aquatic environment and prepare them for swimming. »

Discovery of heritage
In another style to combine night walks, culture and history, “the storytelling walks” with the family offer this cultural event focused on the discovery of heritage in a fun way to captivate the little ones. Several towns in the agglomeration offer this activity, including the town of Lavault-Sainte-Anne, Monday August 23.
tree climbing
Yet not widespread at this age, GTR Accrobranche is the exception to the rule for tree climbing. “There are two tree climbing courses for children over three years old. On the first, they climb a net and descend a slide. The second is a classic one-metre-high, age-appropriate high ropes course with zip lines. We always think that for the little ones it doesn’t exist, but it does,” explains Charlène Buvat, an employee.
