Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Instead of spending a long time at Hamad International Airport to wait for their flight to the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, a Canadian couple decided to take advantage of the time and tour the Qatari capital, Doha, within 8 hours (watch the video above) .
Content creator Dave Money and his wife, Tracy, travel with Qatar Airways frequently, which means they often end up in Qatar as a transit point.
But the couple never got a chance to leave the airport, except when they had to wait 8 hours for a flight in September of 2022.
In an interview with CNN in Arabic, Mane said: “Between the opportunity to see part of Qatar, or to stay inside the airport all day to wait for our flight, the choice was clear.”
During their experience, the duo was able to explore some of Doha’s most prominent landmarks, including the Katara Cultural Village, which is the largest multi-dimensional cultural project in Qatar, and the “Waqif” market, which is one of the oldest landmarks in Doha.
They also had the opportunity to explore the “Doha Corniche” overlooking the city’s skyline, and see some of the traditional “dhow” sailing boats.
“Having the opportunity to see a small part of the country is a much better experience (than waiting),” Mane stressed.
Mane launched his own YouTube channel at the beginning of 2020.
Together, the duo focus on sharing their travels and experiences online, with their focus on destinations on the African continent.
