Lord Mayor Jens Meyer has presented another report publication together with the education office of the city of Weiden: The partial report “Seniors Education” presents and analyzes the demographic and social situation of older citizens in Weiden.

With the report, the city of Weiden wants to create transparency, highlight areas of action and take account of demographic developments. With changing framework conditions, strategies can be developed to keep the city of Weiden going a liveable and lovable city for all age groups remains.

Senior citizens in particular take on responsibility through their involvement in honorary offices, political parties and associations, but they also make a valuable contribution to society in terms of looking after grandchildren, as the Mayor praises. “Society is getting older and older and aging must not be reduced to care. Lifelong learning is of course also part of old age. Education creates added value for social, voluntary and family engagement and for social interaction in the city, ”says Mayor Jens Meyer.

The report therefore offers a valid basis for the city’s senior policy decisions. The “Senior Education” report is available online here.
