Yes to flood protection: the residents’ council approves a loan for 27.6 million francs

The community itself has to raise around 10 million francs for the hydraulic engineering project and the revitalization of the village stream and Gottesgraben. The Wettingen voters are expected to decide on this in June 2024.

The village stream and its lower reaches, the Gottesgraben, are to be made flood-proof.

The municipality of Wettingen should tackle flood protection: that is the opinion of the residents’ council. At its meeting on Thursday evening, it unanimously approved a loan of 27.6 million francs for the project, which also includes the revitalization of the village stream and Gottesgraben from the Brunnenwiese cemetery to Altenburgstrasse.

The loan also includes the renovation of sewer lines and coverings as well as the renewal of public lighting. The federal government and the canton, as well as the ewz naturemade star fund and the Aargau Building Insurance (AGV), are contributing 17.6 million francs to the costs. (together)
