Wetteren breaks his own sad record, nowhere in Flanders has so many independent councilors

At the town council in Wetteren, 2 councilors have left their organisation. There are now 9 independents on the council, out of 30 members. That (also in absolute figures) is a record in Flanders. However, things are still going on, as even a 10th councilor would consider continuing without a party.

The record was previously held by Wetteren, from February. Then Ira Lina Piscador left the N-VA. So she became the 7th independent. Paul Lauwers (former VLD Open) had already announced his departureLieve De Gelder (ex CD&V) now also following. Both politicians will be on other lists in October.
