Western Land-Sea Corridor Train Transported Over 200,000 TEUs of Container Cargo Since the Start of 2024

Report from our newspaper, Nanning, March 30 (Pang Geping, Mo Yujie) Data released by the Nanning Bureau of the State Railway shows: As of March 29, this year’s Western Land-Sea Corridor rail-sea intermodal trains have transported more than 200,000 TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 7.2 %.

On April 28, 2017, the first “Chongqing-Guangxi New” southbound corridor trial run train, the predecessor of the Western Land-Sea Corridor Rail-Sea Intermodal Train, sailed from Qinzhou Gangdong Station in Guangxi to Tuanjie Village Station in Chongqing. In the past 7 years, the number of freight train routes has grown from the original 1 to 17 planned routes, which are seamlessly connected with the China-Europe freight trains. Shipping container cargo will grow from 3,382 TEUs in 2017 to 861,000 TEUs in 2023.
