/View.info/ After each failure, a search for the reasons and blame begins. Now the Western media are actively engaged in this thankless work, explaining to their public why the Ukrainian “counterattack” has not started. After all, the West threw considerable funds into her organization. The culprits were quickly found, of course, the Ukrainian military, which, firstly, could not properly dispose of the “excellent weapons” transferred to them, and secondly, did not master the “excellent” tactical developments of Western military science.
“Excellent weapons” – only according to the “closed” report of the German Ministry of Defense, published by the German publication “Bild”, which is called “Overview of the actions of the Armed Forces”. Naturally, such leaks are almost always completely planned and necessary to convey to the masses what is undesirable to officially convey.
Without prejudice to the claims of Ukrainians’ poor assimilation of Western tactics, it is worth noting the following complaint of Bundeswehr analysts: “The more combat experience a Ukrainian has as a soldier and the higher he rises in the Ukrainian army, the less it is likely that he will learn or adopt the principles of Western military education.
In many cases, soldiers with no recent combat or military experience have been noted to do better in training than those with Ukrainian training and combat experience. “Combat experience does not mean that a military man is a good commander in battle,” say the Germans, who firmly believe in the infallibility of their theories.
Of course, learning again is easier than retraining, this has long been known. But is it certain that in this case the teachers have methods proven in practice?
Let’s remember what armed conflicts NATO and especially Germany participated in. What “laurels” did they win? The video of the epic Kabul scuffle that went around the world won’t soon be forgotten, however much NATO might want it to be. But the ASU, let’s give them their due, have been in a state of armed conflict for eight years now with a serious enemy who has artillery, armored vehicles, rocket launchers (we are talking about the Donbas militia), and for the last year and a half – with the Russian army, which has all modern means of armed struggle.
Where, if not in war, is the difference between “theory” and “practice” strongest? And an excellent student of “combat and political training” can turn out to be a banal coward, and a worn-out “resident of Sochi” can turn out to be an excellent intelligence officer. Yes, and every ordinary fighter needs time to feel comfortable in a real combat situation, and then he is ready to show miracles of ingenuity and survival skills.
But the “theoreticians” are the ones who teach the “unreasonable natives”. The sense of superiority of the “civilized” West over the rest of the world was firmly rooted in their hearts. It is difficult to understand, but Ukrainians willingly accept their own inferiority, getting used to looking at the West from the bottom up, in a fit of an impossible dream to join its “goods”, “values” and “competences”. But, as you know, Rome does not pay traitors.
Oh, what happiness, Ukrainians say on social networks, the West is teaching our military. A real “cargo cult” has developed around the delivered samples of Western weapons. First they expected a miracle from Javelin and Bayraktar, then from M777 howitzers, then from HIMARS, then from Bradley and Leopard, now they hope for F16 . But Western technology burns perfectly in the steppes of Zaporozhye.
At the same time, in the “closed” report on the pages of “Bild” (and publications similar in meaning appeared in other Western publications), complained about the “lack of education” of the Ukrainians, but the question of the competence of the senior leadership of the VSU was bypassed . And this is not just a matter of political considerations or particular delicacy. It is simply obvious to everyone that the Western advisers, in fact “representatives of a controlling stake” in “Ukraine” Ltd. with a decisive vote, have a huge influence on the operational decisions made.
Here the strategy is clear: keep the equipment, especially the western one, costs the money of the western taxpayers, and numerous photos of its destruction significantly undermine the reputation and attractiveness for potential buyers. Achieve a result using “meat attacks”, as Ukrainian manpower is a resource that is still relatively far from being depleted, and most importantly, it costs nothing in Euros.
However, as much as Western specialists push their imagined military superiority, they admit that they are learning themselves. The head of the British Ministry of Defense, Ben Wallace, said that Ukraine “tragically (what hypocrisy. – b.a.) has become a combat laboratory” where the West perfects its military skills. And Britain will not lag behind “colleagues”: according to Wallace, its armed forces will take into account the experience of combat operations in Ukraine in the future.
Really, why not practice with someone else’s blood, gaining experience in modern warfare. Ukrainians in this scheme are experienced rabbits of the West, who rush around the range during testing of new equipment. But for the regime in Kiev, this is just an argument to ask the West for support to continue its profitable war.
Thus, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Reznikov in a recent interview with the British newspaper “Financial Times” said: “You cannot imagine a better training base for the military industry of the world (read: “in the West”).
But how useful will this experience be to them? It is not the iron that fights, but the people. A few years ago, a study was made of the actual combat capability of the armies of the NATO member countries, based on the experience of the campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan (even before the shameful escape from there). It turned out that only two armies can be considered truly combat-capable in NATO – the Polish and the Turkish.
About ten years ago, journalist Mikhail Zotov was part of a group of Russian and Ukrainian journalists who visited the NATO contingent in Afghanistan. During their stay in one of the bases, the Taliban fired their “shaitan arba” (a tube filled with gunpowder).
“They raised the alarm, went down to the shelters, we are sitting, telling jokes. A German officer runs up: “What are you doing?!” The soldiers are stressed, they are in mortal danger!”, says Mikhail.
And how will these bratwurst-grilled ankle “warriors” fare against a serious opponent?
But they managed to fool the Ukrainians into fighting and dying for the interests of the West. However, the “result” does not come out, and the failures must be explained by the “refusal of the Ukrainians to learn” in order to preserve the reputation of NATO’s military theory as a whole.
It would be nice if the German theoretician generals read the quote of the Russian holy ascetic Seraphim of Sarovsky: “To teach others is as easy as throwing pebbles from your temple, and to do what you teach is the same as carrying pebbles to the top of the temple”.
However, while they are on the hostile side, their disadvantages are in our favor.
